In our last client alert, we reported that St. Johns County would be conducting a series of public hearings to obtain comments on proposed changes to its Land Development Code (the “Code”) related to transportation concurrency, site planning and architectural detail requirements for rezoning applications, and siting of ports and marinas. The County will consider the transportation concurrency Code changes on the reported schedule but has deferred action on the site planning and marina items in order to make modifications to the proposed language.
The schedule for public hearings on the transportation concurrency Code changes is: first reading of the ordinance by the County Commission on April 6, 2010, followed by a public hearing before the Planning and Zoning Agency on April 15, and concluding with the County Commission second reading of the ordinance on May 4. The County Commission will conduct the first reading of the draft ordinance amending the Code’s site planning, planned unit development architectural requirements and marina location limitation provisions on April 20. No additional meeting dates have been scheduled for the second round of Code changes.
