Lewis is a member of Rogers Towers’ Marital and Family Law Department. He represents clients in all areas of Family or Domestic Relations Law, including dissolution of marriage (contested and uncontested), paternity matters, support issues, injunctions, post-judgment matters, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, attorney’s fees and related ancillary issues. Lewis also specializes in custody matters. Recently, Lewis successfully represented a father in an extremely contentious paternity case resulting in the father receiving full custody of his minor children following an 11-month period of no contact with the children.
Lewis has also represented a former husband in a post-judgment proceeding after the former wife absconded with the minor children to another state. Following numerous hearings, Lewis successfully moved the court to require the return of the children to Florida and award the former husband with majority time sharing. Additionally, Lewis successfully defended an appeal filed by the former wife resulting in the appellate court upholding the trial court’s ruling.
Lewis also successfully represented a former husband in a post-judgment alimony modification proceeding resulting in the termination of the former husband’s permanent alimony obligation.
Often prenuptial and postnuptial agreements are required as part of trust and estate work done by the firm. This can involve working with the firm’s Real Estate Department to create the conveyance of property to an heir to achieve the goal of maintaining a property’s non-marital status.
Lewis and his department utilize a total team approach to representation. The team-approach provides clients with the highest level of excellence and service, which is seldom seen in this area of the law.
