Professional Experience / Bio

Cecile specializes in commercial real estate transactions, working with a diverse range of clients, including lenders, developers, purchasers, and sellers. She also has extensive experience in commercial leasing. In purchase and sale transactions, Cecile assists with negotiating and drafting agreements, reviewing due diligence materials—such as title insurance, surveys, and environmental site assessments—and preparing closing documents to ensure successful transactions.

When working with lenders, Cecile prepares closing checklists based on loan approval conditions, coordinates with borrowers and their counsel, drafts and negotiates closing documents, and reviews due diligence materials. She also represents borrowers in loan transactions, ensuring that their interests are well-protected.

For developers, Cecile offers expertise in planning and preparing covenants and restrictions, reciprocal easement documents, and architectural review materials. She takes a proactive approach and finds it beneficial to be involved early in the site planning stage to provide comprehensive support throughout the process.

Cecile has guided numerous nonprofit clients through the challenging process of closing HUD loans for elderly or low-income housing projects. She has also represented lenders in multimillion-dollar construction and permanent loan closings. Her experience includes the purchase and sale of various commercial properties, such as apartment complexes, office buildings, shopping centers, and vacant land intended for commercial use.

In addition to her transactional work, Cecile consults on litigation matters, helping clients facing potential disputes or assisting in drafting language to avoid litigation. She frequently collaborates with the Business and Corporate Transactions and Tax Groups on real estate-related matters, including asset sales and tax advice. Her work often intersects with government and regulatory issues, particularly in zoning and land use, as well as with Trusts and Estates.

With over 40 years of experience, Cecile has handled a wide variety of real estate transactions. Her in-depth knowledge allows her to efficiently identify issues and ensure that her clients’ goals are met. Cecile tailors her approach to each client, whether they prefer to conduct due diligence in-house or need guidance through unfamiliar processes.
